In the mo del, low expression of miRNA164, miRNA171, and high expression of miRNA166 and their potential target genes affected SAM development and reduced the duration of shoot growth in YF trees. [score:8]

An apple NAC-domain protein coding sequence MdNAC1 was identified as a potential miR164 target, the complementary site having three mismatches and two G/U pairs (Figure 5F). [score:3]

The expression of Md-miR164 (miRBase MIMAT0025908), which targets a NAC-domain transcription factor, MdNAC (NCBI XM_008376341.1), displayed a 4.35-fold upregulation at 24 hpi with ALT1, which functions as a stress-responsive transcription factor (Puranik et al., 2012; Zhu et al., 2014; Figures 2, 3).
