Because the genomes of sheep and goat are incomplete, we located the 21 co-expressed miRNAs on the completed cattle genome and found that, apart from the miR-668 family which is not expressed in cattle, the other 20 families were all clustered in the 66039214–67786949 region of bovine chromosome 21. It is possible that mir-368 and mir-668 may be related to the development and normal apoptosis of skin hair follicle and, therefore, these miRNAs may be involved in regulating the development of the skin and hair follicle. [score:4]
