The relatively high expression level suggested that bmo-miR-278, in company with synchronized expressions of bmo-miR-77, bmo-miR-10 and bmo-miR-14, may play a similar role in regulating energy metabolism at molting stage, compromising for the conflict of energy-hungry process and fasting behavior by targeting insulin receptor-like protein precursor (BIR), bombyxin, and BmCF1.
